Box & Found

Know what's in every box without opening it.

A home inventory people share. Photograph what goes into a box, put boxes in rooms, then find anything by search, by QR code or on a hand-drawn room map. A household can share one inventory, and members can ask each other for an item back. Box Detective lists a box's contents from a single photo.

v1.6, an installable PWA in plain JavaScript with no framework, on Supabase and Netlify Functions. Works offline, and you can start without an account and move to the cloud later.

v0.6.1, a native Kotlin and Compose port that doesn't copy the web app's weak spots: edits save only the items that changed, and deleting a household is one safe step. It has Play Billing, FCM push and a room-map editor.

In progress: a SwiftUI client, written entirely on Windows. GitHub Actions compiles it and runs it in a simulator. It reached the notifications milestone with 213 tests passing.

NestCast

Your home media server, on the big screen.

The free NestCast Server app serves the films and shows on your Windows PCs, and the Android TV app plays them straight from the PC that has them, over your home network. No account, no cloud, no ads, and nothing is uploaded. Free and open source under GPL-3.0.

The TV app is not on Google Play yet: download the APK from its release and sideload it onto an Android TV or Google TV.

  • One library across every PC in the house, with search, posters and folders
  • Picks up where you left off, and finds a PC again when its address changes
  • Audio the TV can't decode, like E-AC-3, is decoded in the app
  • Your own pictures and videos, browsed folder by folder
  • Cast a PC's screen to the TV with sound, only once the PC says yes — to a Chromecast too
  • Finished something? It's marked watched in MediaLog, for whoever was watching

StreetSeen

See it. Spot it. StreetSeen.

Car spotting as a collecting game. Photograph a car and an AI vision model works out the make, model and generation, reading the badges to get the exact variant. The car then goes into your Spotbook as a card, with its rarity calculated from production numbers and age.

  1. Spot
  2. Capture
  3. Identify
  4. Log
  5. Collect
  6. Discover

Location privacy is enforced in the database: other people only ever see a ~1 km grid cell or the city, and spots near home or work drop to city-only automatically.

SailCue

The skipper's cheat sheet, one tap away.

Instant sailing reference for the cockpit: interactive diagrams and small calculators instead of pages of text. Start from the situation you are in, like a man overboard, wind building or a buoy you don't recognise, and get the answer at a glance, with more detail one tap away when there's time for it.

  • Drag the wind and the boat to see the point of sail, trim and the no-go zone
  • Tides: rule of twelfths, height at a given time, under-keel clearance, springs and neaps
  • Navigation lights, buoyage (IALA A and B) and who gives way, drawn so you recognise them
  • Course to steer, anchoring scope, weather, safety scripts, checklists, knots and flags
  • Day, night and red-night themes, set up for your boat, and it keeps working with no signal

A reference and training aid, not for primary navigation: always check against official charts and tables.

Sarmale

A cooking story about a Romanian family.

A narrative cooking-puzzle game across three generations. You come back to your bunica's house in Ardeal to cook the pomană, with nothing but her unfinished recipe notebook. Each recipe opens a memory: a Moldovan village in 1988, a winter kitchen in 1998, a small flat in Italy in 2004. Piece the recipes back together and the family's story comes back with them, including the parts nobody ever said out loud.

  • Six chapters, six dishes: ciorbă, mămăligă, sarmale, cozonac, salată de boeuf and colivă
  • Rebuild torn recipes from the clues in the notebook and in grandmother's notes in the margins
  • Cook with your hands: slice, stir, knead, roll, pour, and swap in what the shop actually has
  • Gentle puzzles with no way to fail; the weight is in the story
  • A look drawn from Romanian embroidery, painted plates and folk motifs

All six chapters play from start to finish. The art, music and sound are still placeholders.
